Asphalt Shingles
Asphalt shingles are a cost effective and proven roofing system for roofs from 2/12 pitches and up. They come in a variety of colors, textures and sizes with accompanying warranties from 25 year to lifetime.
Built-Up Roofing
Built-up Roofing or BUR is a process of multiple plies of felt adhered with asphalt (Either hot or cold). This roof is tough and resilient against punctures and the abuse of mother-nature.
The second type is Modified Bitumen or Mod Bit. This system subtype became popular starting in the 1970’s. Differences in this include less plies required and the addition of reinforcement in the sheets.
Copper
Copper roofing is made using copper sheets. These sheets (also used for wall applications) are fabricated into many different types of panels. These panels vary in sized and design to fit the aesthetic and performance needs of the home/building owner. They also vary in types of copper such as Pre-patina (treated to appear as weathered copper), zinc/tin coated copper, stainless steel coated and others.
EPDM
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene M-class rubber) roofing is the most cost effective roofing system for low sloped roofing needs. The EPDM roofing system has warranties from 5 years up to 30 years and is a proven roofing system. Installation techniques vary also depending on the application and wind speed needs. It is also available in white, felt backed and other special membranes.
Metal Roofing and Siding
Metal Roofing is roofing or siding
panels made of aluminum or steel sheets, typically coated with a paint finish. These roofing systems are used in lieu of asphalt shingles and slates for there aesthetic appeal as the colors are limitless. It is more expensive than Asphalt shingles, but cheaper than slate or copper roofing. Typical warranties are paint finish (20 or 30 years) and an optional weather-tightness warranty.
Modified Bitumen
Modified Bitumen or Mod Bit is system subtype that became popular starting in the 1970’s. This asphalt based system includes less plies than Asphalt Roofing requires with the addition of reinforcement in the sheets making it more durable and longer lasting.
PVC
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is the next generation to EPDM. The PVC system has heat weldable seams in lieu of taped or glued seams. It also has various installation methods and also comes in a much wider array of colors. Warranties are from 5 years to 30 years in length. It is more costly compared to EPDM.
Slate
One of the longest lasting and oldest roofing systems, slate is a natural product, mined in quarries and used in steep sloped roofing. Slate comes in many different colors and textures and for the most part, are natural in appearance. The systems, properly done, can last for many many years (in some instances up to and over 100 years). Slate roofing is one of the most costly systems on the market due to cost of material, labor to install and requirements needed in the structure to hold the weight. It is also one of the most beautiful systems available.
Specialty Application
We also perform installations beyond roofing such as siding, skylight installation, framing, windows and doors and much much more.
TPO
TPO (ThermoPlastic Olefin) Is the best of both worlds. It has heat weldable seams similar to PVC roofing, but is more cost effective as is EPDM. This system also comes in a variety of colors and has similar warranties to EPDM and PVC. The make up is different than PVC, requiring more reinforcement and other small notable differences.
Wood Shingles/Shakes
Wood shakes and wood shingles are manufactured from western red cedar, cypress, pine and redwood trees. Shakes are split from logs and reshaped by manufacturers for commercial use. They are thicker at the butt end than shingles; generally one or both surfaces are split to obtain a textured effect
Cedar shakes and cedar shingles are available pressure treated with fire retardants and chemical preservatives for increased fire resistance and to prevent premature rot and decay in some climates
